The spring-summer season is always an exciting time for fashion lovers, as designers showcase their latest creations and set the tone for the upcoming year. One of the most prominent trends on the spring 2024 runways was the combination of sporty and preppy elements. Think polo shirts, rugby shirts, windbreakers, tracksuits and hoodies paired with skirts, blazers, heels and flats. This trend gives a nod to the 2000s college fashion and the athletic aesthetic, but with a modern twist. Some of the designers who embraced this trend were Miu Miu, The Row, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dion Lee and Coperni. You can also take cues from celebrities like Taylor Swift, Bella Hadid and Rihanna who have rocked this look recently.
02 | Suit It Up

Another trend that is perfect for spring is the short suit. This consists of a blazer paired with tailored Bermuda shorts or mini shorts, creating a bossy yet fun vibe. You can choose from classic colors like black, white or beige, or go for more vibrant hues like pink, yellow or green. Some of the brands that showcased this trend were Chanel, Staud, Maison Margiela, Loewe and Dries Van Noten. You can wear this trend to work, brunch or even a date night.
03 | 1960s Mini Hems

If you love showing off your legs, you’ll love this trend. The 1960s mini hem is back with a vengeance, featuring boxy shapes, long sleeves, sheer fabrics and metallic finishes. This trend is reminiscent of the movie Valley of the Dolls and gives a retro glam feel. Some of the labels that nailed this trend were Marni, Miu Miu, Michael Kors and Missoni. You can style this trend with boots, sandals or sneakers depending on the occasion.

The 90s were arguably one of the chicest decades in fashion history, and we’re glad to see its resurgence on the spring 2024 runways. This trend includes high ribbed turtlenecks, low-slung maxi skirts, long tanks, cord pendant necklaces and layered color-blocked dresses. This trend is minimalist yet edgy and can be easily mixed and matched. Some of the brands that embraced this trend were Marni, Bally, Ferragamo, Gucci and Proenza Schouler.

If you’re looking for a soft and delicate color palette for spring, look no further than butter yellow. This hue is as smooth as can be and adds a touch of sunshine to any outfit. Butter yellow dresses were seen at Loewe, Bally and Proenza Schouler, while matching sets were seen at Louis Vuitton, Del Core and Jil Sander. This color is sophisticated yet cozy and can be worn with neutrals or pastels.
06 | Denim Dandy

Denim is a fashion staple that never goes out of style, but this season we saw some unexpected ways that denim was used on the runways. Junya Watanabe created a unique denim dress silhouette with tiered stitching, Chanel and Valentino showcased full denim sets that were atypical for them, and Schiaparelli presented denim cargos that were a departure from their usual dramatic pieces. Denim is versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
